Eastern Fidler Ray (Trygonorrhina fasciata)

On our road trip between Brisbane and Tasmania we only managed one dive in Jervis Bay, at Hyam's Beach.  The entry was easy in the sheltered bay's waters and it was a very rewarding dive.  There were alternate ridges of rock covered in dense algal growth and sandy strips extending parallel from the shore.  The highlights for me were the many Eastern Fidler Rays (Trygonorrhina fasciata), which is a beautiful little species of shovelnose ray/guitar shark, and a very colourful Giant cuttlefish (Sepia apama) neither of which I had seen before.
